Tranquil, Tropical, Paradise La Gaviota Villa

My family decided to rent La Gaviota Villa for our stay in Sosua and we are very happy with our decision. We travelled in October 2017 (off season) and was happily surprised the weather was fabulous. The Villa itself was clean and tidy with great amenities. The pool was clean and well kept, we spent most mornings and late evenings by the private pool. We would recommend stocking up at the local supermarket 'Supermercado Playero' It is air conditioned (super cold) and has everything you would need.

If you are not driving, then you will need to discuss transport arrangements with the hosts. We travelled to Playa Sosua beach most afternoons as we found that the waters here were clear and charm for our children 5 and 9 at the time.

There were many local bars and food places located directly on Playa Sosua beach, however we would recommend bring a packet lunch unless ordering fish which we do recommend eating, otherwise there are numerous restaurants in town off the beach like "Captain Bailees", We suggest asking the hosts as we found that Google maps did not show many of the new and well established restaurants.

We would like to thank our hosts for their hospitality, we had a great time, we hope to come back very soon.

Words can not describe the wonderful experience I had staying at Veronica & Andy's place. The pictures are beautiful but you have to see this place in person to really get the true beauty they have put in it. The house is very secure and located in a secured location. The view is also spectacular on a clear day. The owners are very attentive yet allow you to have your privacy.

The house has no A/C but truly, you do not need it (and I am one that needs A/C in the DR). There is a constant breeze blowing through the house that keeps it cool. The windows have screens that keep the bugs out so mosquitoes were not an issue unless you keep the doors open. There is something magical and positive flowing through this house. The next day while I was sitting sipping a cocktail, that it hit me that I was so relaxed and felt at home. Looking around I noticed why due to the magical touch the owners put in the house. The thought that was put in the decor really shows. The balcony/terrace/patios are an extra plus that provides a relaxing sitting or outdoor dining experience. The kitchen provides everything you need to cook and clean. The house was very clean in every room. The bathrooms provide extras like you were staying at a 5 star hotel. The pool is clean and warm naturally by the suns rays.

The grounds are kept up by a gardener that works hard at keeping the grounds spotless. At night it is so quiet that all you hear is the sounds of nature. If you stay only a few days in this home it will not be enough time to really enjoy the wonders this town has to offer. They also have a wonderful book that provides all you need to know about the area. Day trips, fishing, restaurants, excursions and so much more. If you have stayed in the Casa Linda community, this place provides the same quality if not more. I rank it number one. It is great for families and couples. This place is so wonderful, I want to keep it a hidden secret but that would be selfish and not allow others to enjoy what I experienced. There is so much more I could say about this home and its owners and I still would not say enough. Thank you so much Veronica & Andy you two are the best.

Three of us spent part of our family vacation at Villa Gaviato and were - overwhelmed! The owners in the adjoining property welcomed us warmly and left us the villa with the following characteristics in perfect condition: - Large, well-kept pool - gas grill, filled water dispensers, bathroom equipment as in the hotel - 3 external terraces on 3 different levels - Folder with detailed recommendations for Activities, excursions, restaurants, plus all the useful addresses that you need on holiday - Very high security (garden gate, secured entrance / window) - Regular garden and pool maintenance - Fully furnished house with first-class WiFi, TV, stereo, fully equipped kitchen - everything your heart desires The landlords even offer to pick up guests from the airport Puerto Plata, they also lend a SUV for their own use - a car is needed in this situation in any case. Also for all other inquiries are the very sympathetic landlord any time with words and deeds available. In short - a little paradise, in which we like to come back.

Die Eigentümer im angrenzenden Anwesen empfingen uns herzlich und haben uns die Villa mit folgenden Merkmalen in einwandfreiem Zustand überlassen: - Großer, gepflegter Pool - Gasgrill, gefüllte Wasserspender, Badausstattung wie im Hotel - 3 externe Terrassen auf 3 verschiedenen Niveaus - Ordner mit ausführlichen Empfehlungen für Aktivitäten, Ausflüge, Restaurants, zudem alle nützlichen Adressen, die man im Urlaub braucht - Sehr hohes Sicherheitsgefühl (Gartentor, gesicherter Eingang/Fenster) - Regelmäßige Garten- und Poolpflege - Komplett eingerichtetes Wohnhaus mit erstklassigem WiFi, TV, Stereoanlage, voll ausgestattete Küche - alles, was das Herz begehrt Die Vermieter bieten sogar an, die Gäste vom Flughafen Puerto Plata abzuholen, zudem verleihen sie auch einen SUV für den Eigengebrauch - ein Auto benötigt man in dieser Lage in jedem Fall. Auch für alle anderen Anfragen stehen die sehr sympathischen Vermieter jeder Zeit mit Rat und Tat zur Verfügung. Kurzum - ein kleines Paradies, in das wir gerne wiederkommen.

My friends and I were blessed to stay at La Gaviota in Sosua DR from July into August 2019. The villa is elegant, sumptuous, yet very relaxing and peaceful. The furnishings and art work were all well appointed.

The pool is Olympic size and the views from the verandah featured the ocean with beautiful trees in the forefront. The owners have maintained the villa with the highest standard of care and attention to detail. Veronica and Andy were a great hostess team that allowed their guest to feel at home. It was the most relaxing stay and I rate this villa a 10 among the other vacations I have had over the last 10 years of traveling extensively. I plan to return yearly and highly recommend La Gaviota as a wonderful choice for a relaxing, peaceful, luxurious and safe accomodation.

This holiday let was amazing. The villa is beautiful and well maintained by the owners. The rooms are amazing, decorated beautifully and very clean. The hosts were also amazing and went out of their way to ensure that our holiday was fantastic. We had the use of the villa and the casita.

The swimming pool was fantastic, and the hosts provided accessories for us to use which you don't get in most places. It is a family friendly villa with fantastic grounds and gardens. The villa is 10 minutes away from a beach and Sousa town. It is tranquil and a superb location for a holiday. If you want the holiday of a lifetime with relaxation and fun then this is the place to go.

Once you reach the villa, the first thing that will catch your eye is the amazing swimming pool in the front villa. As you make your way upstairs there a small hammock and large table and a seating area on the terrace.

Veronica and Andy provide a lot to make the house comfortable and homey, they provide a welcoming book that contains the history of Sosua and places in the city and the best restaurants and activities you could do within the area. Veronica and Andy are best hosts you could find in Punta Plata, DR. My family choosing this villa for the holiday was perfect and we made a lot of memories in this villa and WILL be coming back next year! Thank you hope to see you again soon!

The location and the house is perfect especially when you have restaurants and Sosua Beach about less than 10mins away, even if you don’t want to go to the beach for a swim you have the luxury of having a swimming pool at the front of the house. I just feel that every part of this villa is amazing and when I go back I will definitely be staying there again, so I would highly recommend to everyone.

When we booked La Gaviota in Sosua Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, the reality far exceeded our expectations. I cannot say enough about the two special people (Veronica and Andy) we had the pleasure of knowing during our two week stay. The property is kept in emaculent condition, the grounds are beautiful, the villa is decorated and furnished with a lot of thought about the needs of the guest.

Pleasant breezes blowing most of day, with breathtaking views. The veranda is well decorated for a wonderful out door living space, and there is a grand staircase that takes you to the pool. The pool is the cherry on top of this well decorated cake. If you stay there you will never forget it, because you will generate memories that will last a lifetime.

They leave you a folder with all the best places to visit in town and beaches which includes a lot of information about the city. Will definitely be coming back next year!
