Villa "La Gaviota" was built in 1999 and has been a much loved holiday vacation home for over 18 years. The villa is surrounded by the beautiful hills and countryside of La Mullata III, Sosua, in the Republica Dominicana. The Villa was built in its elevated position to take advantage of the scenic views of the sea and landscape around. Over the years there have been many changes to the villa's once rural position and it has become semi-rural as other such houses have now been built around it. However, the tranquility of the area has still been preserved and you can still hear and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean sounds of crickets; bird song; Merengue and Bachata music.
Set within a group of only 3 villas, (Casa Picaflor and Santa Ana), La Gaviota is the last of the three houses positioned on the hill. It stands in a plot of 3,201.42 m2 and its landscape boast's magnificent open spaces with fruit and tropical plants that adorn the garden.
We acquired the villa from its original owners, who decided to retire to their native Country. As the proud new owners (a husband and wife team who have themselves retired from the United Kingdom), we felt what better way to spend our retirement than to live and offer to others the wonderful lifestyle here albeit for a few days or weeks vacation.
If you're looking for a small, leisurely setting in the Dominican Republic, Sosua would be a great place to visit. Located on the island's north coast, Sosua is famous for its beaches. It has an international community which fuels the nightlife scene.
